Hi everyone, the holiday season is here and that means an invitation to holiday parties and wonderful family gatherings. It also means finding the time to pick out what to wear to which party and finding time to choose the best outfits and the best deals. A few years back the holiday parties at work were extravagant with ball gowns and fancy dinners, and then I switched careers and at my new job the parties are semi formal, which means I had to go from shopping for gowns to shopping for a more cocktail dress kind of look. If your office has a small party or gathering, then I recommend opting for a knee-length fun dress. It can be a classic look or a more fun skater dress look. For today’s outfit I opted for a fully sequined classic fitted dress with some whimsical heels. The most fun part is that I didn’t have to spend hours running from store to store to create this look because I had some awesome help.
I recently found out that Macy’s has a MyStylist service. It is a personal shopping service that is completely free, and in my case it saved me a lot of time. I made my appointment two days in advance and the stylist Megan Lugo called me the same day. She asked me what kind of outfit I was looking for and details like my shoe size, dress size and the type of event I was going to. On the day of the appointment Megan met me in her office, which had its own fitting rooms. She already had a bunch of items picked out for me. While I loved what she had picked out I also wanted to take a quick walk to look at the other outfits. So we walked to the dress section and having her around was incredibly helpful. She was very knowledgeable about different brands and their sizing. So, we picked a few things and headed back to our private fitting rooms. I tried some of the fantastic looks that she had created for me and things that I had picked out. It was almost like having your friend with you giving you feedback on what looks good and what can be changed. After a few changes I knew what dress I wanted and she agreed. So, while I sipped some tea in her office, she rang my clothes and shoes and even checked if my purchase was eligible for any coupons. At no point did I feel any kind of pressure to buy something and the best part was I didn’t have to wait in any lines for fitting rooms or for cashier. It was an excellent experience. I did it to save me time, but it is a great service if you are looking to update a few pieces in your closet or doing some holiday shopping. Her office had great holiday gift ideas too.
I love this simple icy INC clutch. It will go along with so many of my holiday outfits and it fits my phone, cards and lipstick perfectly. It is also available in black and gold too.
These breathtakingly beautiful sapphire blue heels are by Badgley Mischka. These are definitely the crown jewel of my shoe closet right now. They are available in black and white color too.
